The Locanda

The Locanda "Pere e Margherite" is a place for food in the name of an attentive traditional cuisine, but also with an eye on innovative research and lightness of taste requested by contemporary dishes. As happened in the village of Pieve a Presciano, a small village of medieval origins that gave birth to the inn, the menu changes with the flavours of the seasons.

Our food is a delightful meeting between the palate and the local specialties, which confirm the famous Tuscan cuisine with the “Pappa al pomodoro” and the “Liver mousse with port” that reminds ancient memories about the Tuscan “Crostino nero”. The current location of the Inn, inside the Relais Santa Margherita, is a historic villa that in the course of one thousand years has been transformed from a monastery to the medieval residence of the Bacci family, far-sighted merchants who wanted Piero della Francesca to paint the Bacci chapel, in the church of San Francesco in Arezzo. The Locanda is situated near the River Arno and the Ponte Buriano that, with the landscape of the Valdarno valley, is the background in the “Mona Lisa” or “Gioconda”: one of the most famous painting belonging to Leonardo da Vinci.

Here, amid the walls that are still familiar with the history, with the Tuscan sun and the tables decorated for the party, the style and accuracy of the food prepared by Sandro, the choice of details beloved by Carlo, the reliability and the frankness through which Graziano organizes his work, allow the guest to take part to the colours and tastes drawn from the green fields, the water and the light that surround the large greenhouse. Natural elements through which the three friends receive their guests sharing with them a bit of happiness and peacefulness thanks to the warmth and the excellent cuisine.
